Paks has always dreamed of being a warrior. When her father tries to wed her to another local farmer, the teenager rebels and runs away to join a mercenary company headed by Duke Phelan. There she finds much the sort of life she'd hoped for--fighting side by side with good friends, growing stronger, marching to new and interesting places, and earning respect through her actions.

It seems, though, that forces outside of herself are spurring Paks toward greater things. She is eager to accept challenges before her, but realizes too late that some adventures and experiences carry a terrible price.

I really liked the second and third books of this trilogy, as Paks begins to grow and change more, goes through more hardship, and discovers her internal strength. By the end of the story, she is an excellent character, at peace with herself in a way she wasn't throughout the early parts of the book.

I thought the beginning of the story was a bit slow, and Paks wasn't well defined enough. I'm not much of one for battle scenes, so those were hard to slog through, and I lost track of some of the characters. It's a really long story, and the author did a good job of tying things up and bringing characters from early on to the end. I just had a hard time keeping them straight.

Overall, this was a satisfying adventure story. I really liked the fact that women in the mercenary company were treated mostly as no big deal, and there was The idea of women's sexual tension on the streets in the first game or take a point.

Facebook Ads Guide - How Affiliate Marketing in Facebook Can Earn You Millions

§ 0

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Jonathan Volk, the author of the e-book Facebook Ads Guide, has earned almost $4,000 a day just by advertising in Facebook. This kind of earning sums up to more than $1,000,000 a year. Sounds like a fantasy? But what's great about this fantasy is that it can be your life's reality. If you know the proper tricks and techniques in Facebook advertising, then chances are you will be earning more than you have ever expected.

Affiliate marketing is when an 'affiliate' or an associate is given a reward for every customer that he or she brings to the brand or the seller. In terms of Internet marketing, a way of measuring this is through the ctr or the click thru rates or how much people an affiliate marketer drives to the brand's site.

Affiliate marketing in Facebook is very efficient because of the huge amount of traffic that this site generates. Facebook has surpassed the world's number one in traffic volume, Google. This means that millions of people around the world use Facebook and spend hours clicking away on the ads, links and tabs found in Facebook.

It is also easy to know where to place the ads on Facebook because you see people's hobbies and interests right away. The fan pages make affiliate marketing easier in Facebook because the fan page is already a group of people with most likely the same interests and likes. If you place a certain ad of a brand that you would think the people in a fan page would like, more people will click on it than if you just place it anywhere else. This gives the efficiency that your ad needs.

Remember that the more people using the site, the more chances that your ad will be viewed and clicked. This drives more people to the brand's site and this, in turn, drives more money into your wallet.

A lot to say about this book. It returns to the world of The Iron Dragon's Daughter. This is a happy thing for me, since that is and remains one of my favorite fantasy novels. I wish I had more adjectives to convey "dark" and "original". Those words are overused, aren't they? But they apply here, both of them.

The story, as is usual for Swanwick, weaves together a number of plot threads. Think of it more as a rope with many strands than as a single clear plot line. There's something about power and how it corrupts, and something else about the pros and cons of terrorism. There are magical creatures of many kinds, all inventive and lovingly detailed. There's a lost king plot too-- but I would wager it is different than you have seen that old chestnut cooked before. A lot of humor here too, tossed in for good measure.

I will admit to some chaos with all these elements cooked together. I didn't mind it at all-- I was carried along by the energy of the book itself. If you like your fantasy very neat and simple, this may not appeal to you. Also be aware that the only "young" part of this book is the original age of the main character-- I would not mistake either this or The Iron Dragon's Daughter for young adult reading. At least not typical young adult reading; I suspect that there would be rather too much adult for many parents here.

Top 5 epic fantasy series to read.

§ 0

Must Read Epic Fantasy Series

Fantasy books are very popular these days. This is probably due to the release of some very high profile fantasy movies the past couple years, including Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter movies, and the Golden Compass. The most recent fantasy movie released (at time of writing) was Inkwell. With the proliferation of these fantasy movies, there is quite a bit of interest in the fantasy genre. More and more people are starting to read fantasy books. Perhaps the most popular fantasy genre is the epic fantasy genre - a genre invented by J.R.R. Tolkien. There is so much crap in the fantasy genre that it's hard to sift out the rubbish from the jewels. Fortunately, you can read my guide to the Top 5 Best Epic Fantasy Books.

1. A Song of Ice and Fire by George Martin

This is absolutely one of the best fantasy sagas available today. This are immensely popular fantasy novels - and with good reason. The plot of the books is extremely unpredictable and the characters are richly portrayed. The theme of this book is Grey - the characters are completely Grey. With a good mix of action, politics, and (at least at the begging) a subtle hint of the supernatural hinting at a coming danger, these books draw you right into the marvelous world. If you are looking for some of the best fantasy books, you won't go wrong at all if you pick these books up!

2. A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Stephen Erikson

This is epic fantasy that just doesn't get any more epic, folks. It's a story that follows in the epic tradition of the Greek classics with the sheer cast of characters, plots and subplots, and time frame. It's a bit much to keep in your head at first, but if you persist with it, you are treated to an indelible world with some of the most well written and intense battle scenes every put to pen.

3. The Kingkiller Chronicle (Patrick Rothfuss)

This is absolutely one of the most remarkable fantasy debuts ever. No kidding. While you may have heard this platitude spouted on the cover of every fantasy book since Tolkien, believe this one. On the surface, it's a story about a young boy who seeks to become the greatest magician in the world. Now, the premise may sound pretty cliche, but give the book a read and you'll see it's anything but. Read this fantasy novel, it's one of the best fantasy books you will ever read, and a shinning example of what epic fantasy should be like.

4. The Farseer (Robin Hobb)

Now for those of you who love deep characterization, you will want to treat yourself to Robin Hobb's take on the epic fantasy genre. In this series, character development is always paramount. But, the story, plot, and vivid, magical world just suck you right in. The series has been around for a few years, but it's still a classic epic fantasy that should be read by every fantasy enthusiast. Forget all the David Eddings crap and go for this!

5. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

This is a pillar of the fantasy genre. WOT is right up there with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings as far as popularity goes. It's that monstrous series that takes up an entire book shelve in the bookstores' fantasy section. These days, there is lots of hubbub about where Jordan has gone with this series, but the fact remains that this fantasy saga has indelibly influence the fantasy genre as a whole. You should read this series. The story contains a compelling mix of politics, kingdoms, magic, and an epic story that cannot be squeezed (literally) into 13 volumes. Unfortunately, Jordan passed away recently, but another (talented) author is completing Jordan's vision. Don't let this sway you. If there is a modern fantasy series, then this is "the" fantasy saga to read.

These recommendations are some of the best epic fantasy sagas in the genre. It's always hard to judge books; judging books is much like judging beauty - tastes and perceptions change from person to person. Whether you agree with these choices or not, these epic fantasy series have really changed the fantasy genre. If you haven't read them, do yourself a favor and get reading - these fantasy books are sure to keep you entertained.

These are some of the top fantasy books in the fantasy genre. You may have different set of favorite fantasy books, but if you haven't read them yet, you should pick these ones up and give them a read - chances are you will be adding at least a couple to your "favorite fantasy books" List

This is a great follow-on to the Her Majesty's Wizard book that kicked off the series. This is the fifth in the series.

Stasheff is a master of his genre and can't seem to write a bad book that involves magic. If you liked the first book, you'll also enjoy this one.

Our hero, Matt Mantrel, spends time in both Merovence and New Jersey as he chases down the bad guys in both worlds and deals with supernatural beings.

Ben Bova said that the best way to write a Stories about / time to continue his / her balance, she it / he has a new way of good Stasheff the main features of the question.
